Between 1914 and 1918 hundreds of thousands of Britains railway workers left their jobs to fight in the First World War. Over 20,000 never returned. Over the last ten years, staff and volunteers at the National Railway Museum have been researching these railwaymen and creating a list of the fallen: from cleaners to locomotive drivers, porters to carriage builders.
With this app, explore the stories of the hundreds of railwaymen from the railway centre of York who lost their lives.
